During my time working as a retail stylist, I’ve learned many tips and tricks on ways I can upgrade my wardrobe. I’ve always loved the current “corporate baddie” aesthetic that’s also very popular on social media. Although I don’t work in corporate now, business casual looks have always been my favorite. So, lucky for me, that’s the dress code for work. I always get outfit inspiration from my co-workers and even customers sometimes. I love asking them where their shoes or bags are from and taking mental notes to help for the next time I go shopping. Which is how I got inspo for this outfit right here.
One day, a stylish woman came in with her friend looking for rings, and her outfit immediately caught my attention. She wore a short navy blazer dress with a large red Chanel bag and heels. She looked so chic and professional at the same time. Turns out she was the assistant manager for another location for the store and just decided to stop in. I admired how she knew to immediately help her friend find the correct rings for her style. That day, I got styling inspiration for myself and future customers since I was still learning.
Outfit Details

I decided to find a way to recreate her outfit with my own twist. She told me that her dress was from Target, and although I didn’t see her exact one, I found a very similar one from The Range. I found another pinstripe blazer dress from Express that could be a great dupe. You could also wear an oversized blazer as a dress with a belt around the waist.
Next, I found a classic red jumbo Chanel bag that looked similar to hers. I don’t remember what shoes she wore, so I chose these red D’orsay Prada pumps, but any red strappy kitten heels would pair nicely as well.
To finish the look, I added some gold Kendra Scott jewelry, including the Kassie chain necklace and bracelet, Elton cuff bracelet, and Sophia Drop Earrings.
If you need ideas for your hair and makeup, a slick high ponytail with bold red or nude lipstick for a more minimalistic would look great. Zendaya’s Ralph Lauren blazer dress with her high ponytail from 2024 reminds me of what I envisioned for this look.
