In January 2019, I received my certificate for the Parsons School of Design Fashion Industry Essentials Program with Teen Vogue! It is an online certificate program that takes about a year to complete.
In this program, you will learn about each part of the Fashion Industry with the courses – Unlocking Visual Style, Thinking Like a Designer, Understanding Fashion Production, Working in Fashion Media, and Developing Fashion Marketing and PR Skills.
It is an excellent program for anyone curious about the fashion industry and may want to have a career in it someday. I did this program because I have been interested in fashion for a long time, and I wanted to have a profession involving it but, I didn’t know where to start. I wanted an easier way to learn without having to apply to different universities and schools.
Although this is not a degree or credit program, you can still apply to universities or fashion schools and use the knowledge from this program to help you in the long run. I am currently using my certificate to help with my career while attending college for Business Administration. It is also a great program to add to your resume!
The application process for this program was easy to complete. Also, having this program online was very convenient. I could learn and study on my own time. If I had any questions, I could always get help from the live chat or email. For the pricing, you can choose to pay your tuition in full, or you can select a payment plan that is most affordable to you. I picked the monthly payment plan, which was about $79 at the time.
Having this certificate helps me with any careers that I might want to look into in the future. During this program, I explored many different professions and found an interest in skills, which I didn’t even know I had. For example, photography, creating mood boards, styling, and social media.
Right now, I plan to use what I learned to start a career and build my brand with blogging, photography, and social media. The assignments and lessons in this program helped me learn how to set up my brand and connect with other people in this industry through social media and in real life. Also, with other people who have completed this program too!
Again, I recommend this program to anyone interested in learning about the fashion industry. The assignments are fun and engaging. You can do this at your own pace and uncover skills you never even knew that you had. In the end, you will have knowledge and industry advice from some of the top instructors from Parsons School of Design and Teen Vogue and a professional portfolio that will help you with any career you want in the fashion industry!
