read these 5 books to upgrade your life in 2022!

Over the past months, I have been taking my time to read self-help books to find tips on how to improve my life and better myself. This idea started when I joined a book club last year online. I was introduced to so many books with various topics from learning how to better your sleeping schedule to being frugal with your finances. I’ve gained so many life tips from these books and they inspired me to discover more on these topics!

So, here are five books that I learned some of the most valuable information from and where to find them. They are available as both physical and audiobook form. Some are also from the book club and others I found on my own! I hope that you will be able to use these books like I did, so you can also start the journey to upgrade your life in 2022!

5 books you need to read to upgrade your life in 2022!

1.) You Can Heal Your Life By Louise Hay

Personally, I enjoyed this book and wrote down a lot of helpful life advice and affirmations to keep in my notes. This book will be valuable for those interested in changing their mindset and healing their body through positive thinking.

Premise: You Can Heal Your Life is a 1984 self-help and new thought book by Louise L. Hay. It was the second book by the author, after Heal Your Body which she wrote at age 60. Louise’s key message in this powerful work is: “If we are willing to do the mental work, almost anything can be healed.” Louise explains how limiting beliefs and ideas are often the cause of illness, and how you can change your thinking…and improve the quality of your life.

2.) 13 Things Mentally Strong People Don’t Do By Amy Morin

This book helped me strengthen my mindset, and it will be great for those who suffer from anxiety or negative thinking like I do.

Premise: Expanding on her viral post that has become an international phenomenon, a psychotherapist offers simple yet effective solutions for increasing mental strength and finding happiness and success in life.

3.) The Billionaire Next Door: The Surprising Secrets of America’s Wealthy By. Thomas J. Stanley and William D. Danko.

This financial book helped me understand what frugal means and gave memorable advice on saving money. It also helped me see rich people from a different perspective than how they are portrayed in tv or movies. This book will be great for those who want to learn to be frugal and aspire to be wealthy one day.

Premise: The Millionaire Next Door: The Surprising Secrets of America’s Wealthy is a 1996 book by Thomas J. Stanley and William D. Danko. The book is a compilation of research done by the two authors in the profiles of American millionaires. The authors compare the behaviour of those they call “UAWs” and those who are “PAWs”

4.) How To Be Yourself: Quiet Your Inner Critic and Rise Above Social Anxiety By. Ellen Hendriksen

This is one of the first books that I listened to on Audible. I listened to this book to help me with my social anxiety. If you suffer from social anxiety or awkwardness in your life and want to overcome it, then this book will be the perfect start to your journey.

Premise: Weaving together cutting-edge science, concrete tips, and the compelling stories of real people who have risen above their social anxiety, Dr. Ellen Hendriksen proposes a groundbreaking idea: you already have everything you need to succeed in any unfamiliar social situation. As someone who lives with social anxiety, Dr. Hendriksen has devoted her career to helping her clients overcome the same obstacles she has. With familiarity, humor, and authority, Dr. Hendriksen takes the reader through the roots of social anxiety and why it endures, how we can rewire our brains through our behavior, and―at long last―exactly how to quiet your Inner Critic, the pesky voice that whispers, “Everyone will judge you.” Using her techniques to develop confidence, think through the buzz of anxiety, and feel comfortable in any situation, you can finally be your true, authentic self.

5.) The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life By Mark Manson

This is a book that I have recently started reading! It is a little bit more explicit than your average self-help book, but it gives your advice that is blunt and straight to the point. If you’re the kind of person who wants life advice that is told like it is that keeps your interest through real-life examples and humor, then this will be perfect for you!

Premise: In this generation-defining self-help guide, a superstar blogger cuts through the crap to show us how to stop trying to be “positive” all the time so that we can truly become better, happier people.
